Muehlhausen Sister Cities Association

Town partnerships are about more than agreements and official documents. They come to life through people, personal encounters, shared experiences, and lasting friendships.

Founded in 2016, Mühlhäuser Partnerstädte e.V. is a non-profit association dedicated to strengthening Mühlhausen’s international partnerships and friendships. Its aim is to bring people together, encourage personal exchange, and support initiatives that foster mutual understanding across borders.

The association organizes citizen trips and visits to partner and friendship towns on special occasions. It also supports international youth and student exchanges, giving young people the opportunity to meet, work on joint projects, make music, create art, and experience everyday life in another country.

Over the years, these encounters have created lasting international friendships across generations.

The association meets once a month and welcomes everyone interested in international exchange, friendship, and bringing Mühlhausen’s connections with other communities around the world to life.

For Roebling Builds Bridges, the friendship between Mühlhausen and Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, has a special significance. It connects John A. Roebling’s birthplace with the American town he helped to establish after emigrating to the United States, turning a shared history into a living connection between people on both sides of the Atlantic.
